1. Oil based moisturizer.
with the cold, dry,dust-laden wind. It’s important during this season to be aware and intentional about taking care of our skin. Try getting an oil based cream to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated so it won't look ashy, dry and patched. You can add natural organic Oils to your body cream to achieve that effect or apply separately.
2. Vaseline.
As you already know harmattan and dry skin are synonymous And during this time, it’s literally impossible to escape not moisturising your skin properly. for extra skin protection from the harsh weather, Vaseline works best to ensure you are not looking white and patched. so even with your body cream get a Vaseline for added protection to save you the horrors of seeing your skin crusty and flaked.
3. lip balm.
Chapped/ flaky lips are unattractive and this season its unavoidable. Therefore, it is important to stay strapped with lip balm, in order to keep those lips hydrated and supple, also I will like to mention that using a lip moisturizer is not gender based. Please guys do well to also keep your lips supple with at least a lip balm. You don't want to risk not getting kissed by your MCM/ WCW.π
4. Sunglasses π
Look cool while protecting your eyes from dust and dirt and the harsh rays of the sun. it's a good three-in-one deal if you ask me. Get your self a pair of stylish sunglasses if you don't already have one.
5. Drink lots of water:
The need to keep your insides hydrated as well cannot be over emphasized during this season. because of the dust and dryness, always keep a bottle of water on you to keep your throat and body hydrated at all times.6
6. Nose masks.
Apart from serving as a protective covering from the spread of flu, is also great protection from dust and sand from getting into your mouth and nose. Because of the windy nature of this season spreading of dust, germs and flu is very common. Always carry a nose mask and put on when you are outdoors.
7. Socks.
Socks during this dusty season helps to protect your feet, you can't work from point A to point B with your feet looking dry dusty and dirty. so. wear protective shoes that would cover your feet and when you aren't putting on shoes wear a sock to keep your legs moisturized.
8. Convertible clothings.
As we know the Harmattan season has a dual nature, with cold mornings and evenings and then hot afternoons. In other to dress accordingly wear detachable clothes that can work in both hot and cold weather. Also try to cover much skin as possible because of the harsh weather, avoid tight and dark coloured clothings.
9. Do a Protective Hairstyle.
The dryness of the season does not leave our hair left out. so, do well to do a protective hairstyle like braids, corn rows etc and moisturize your scalp regularly to protect the hair texture and edges from breaking.
10. lastly, do well to share the tips for surviving Harmattan to your family and friends so they too can stay protected. Thank you.π€
