It's quite intense to know that a lot happens in a place where we can't physically access. For it's not flesh and blood we should be bothered about because this isn't a physical fight, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, it's a spiritual one. This verse is quite explanatory, a plain and simple illustration that the spiritual realm do exist. An immaterial, spiritual reality unseen by the human eyes.
Remember how the devil lost his position In heaven and was cast down.(Isaiah 14: 12-15), Yeah, that “down” is the earth. And the real fight is between us and the rulers of the darkness of this world, which by the way is the devil. He is the ruler of this world and all the darkness therein. If we believe there is a supreme being God and there's the devil, so why the disbelief in the spiritual realm? Or how do you think the devil operates? Or the angels? The spiritual realm consists of both good—God and the holy angels—and evil—the devil and his demons. Even though the spiritual realm is invisible to the physical eye, we are connected to it, and what goes on in the spiritual realm directly affects our physical world.
The best, and most prevalent, evidence available proving that there is a spiritual realm is testimonial evidence. I've come across two men that testified to being a member of the occult and how God saved them to repentance and service to God. In their stories, they recounted all the activities that occur in the spiritual realm, the occult and their encounter with Lucifer. For the first person, I read his revelations through books, Iyke Nathan Uzorma, a Nigerian who was once an occult grand master. And the second person, James kawalya, a Ugandan, I watched his testimony on YouTube. He was a wizard as well as an high ranking occultist until God saved him.
James kawalya's testimony is similar to that of Iyke Nathan. And I was captivated at the similarity and vividness of these expositions. It's proof that the spiritual realm, activities of principalities, powers and rulers of darkness are indeed real, endless and intentionally consistent.
The most striking realisation from the revelations from these men is how these agents of darkness don't rest or cease from tormenting men. They plot, strategize and execute to achieve their goals. The intentionality and relentless effort to destroy reminds me of the Bible verse John 10:10 “The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life—life in all its fullness”. In this verse, the thief is certainly the devil to rub us off our rights in Christ Jesus.
Hence as christians, this calls for the need to be equipped for battle. We are on a battlefield! Because this spiritual wickedness by the devil and his demons does not stop or end. So whether you like it or not these things exist and they are here to stay. So you have to be spiritually equipped so you don't fall prey to the hands of the devil.
I'll encourage you reading this to search for these men to know their revelations. It's an eye opener of the spiritual realm and an expository of the activities of the devil and most importantly why we should be strong in prayer and hold onto God cause he is the greatest.
