So, I was tired of always being lazy, unfocused, giving excuses and leaving certain important things for later when they should be done that I decided that I needed a book that would speak to me directly, giving me some helpful tips and ways to overcome laziness, procastination and unproductivity.
You know, reading sometimes is like having a conversation with someone but only that you are doing the listening. So I went searching and I found the book "Do it Today by Darius Foroux". The name of the book seemed to be talking to me, a call to action to "do it", whatever it is that should be done.. just do it today. So I did it, i downloaded the E book.
I usually do E books, not like I don't like paper backs, but E books has its own advantages. I realized the book was not a bulky read as it was 127 pages, took me roughly 3hours plus to finish it and here is my review on the book.
Do it today is a self development book written by Darius foroux, which offers helpful practical insights for overcoming procastination, improving productivity and achieving more meaningful things. I particularly like this book because it gave practical tips on how to overcome procastination and become more effective and productive in a simple and precise manner, no too much talk.
From the book, studies showed that Procrastination is found to be innately part of human nature. There's always the need rest, be stress free and leave that "to do" for tomorrow which is not bad. But while taking a break, Most people are overwhelmed with relaxation that they neglect what actually needs to be done and therefore, are more procrastinators than the others, always looking for excuses not to get things done and just wasting time on things that done really matter. So, After reading the book I was able to gets some helpful ways to overcome laziness and unwillingness to take action which I would so like to share with you.
And they are ; Taking responsibility of your life without making excuses, positive self talk that drive motivation and zeal, creating a work system, that is most likely a Todo list and be disciplined enough to follow the rules through your to do list, getting rid of distractions in the form of too much unproductive internet time, watching TV or doing some other things that don't matter, focusing on your goals and wants which should solely revolve around building energy, in the form of regular mental exercises( reading books), physical exercises (a workout routine), work which is basically what ever that yeild you money or will potentially yeild income and relationships with other people, family, friends and your significant other ( because ofcourse no Man is an island!).
These tips are my major take home ways that I would also like for you to adopt if you find your self battling with procastination, unproductivity and laziness. And I highly recommend that you read the book. It's a 10. ☺️
Sometimes all we need is just one good read to speak to us pushing us into being a better version of ourselves.
